ALUMNi Outreach Pickerball Program
ALUMNi proudly organized the inaugural Alumni Outreach Pickerball Program at Arena Raflesia UITM Sabah. The event commenced with an officiating speech by UITM Sabah Vice Rector, Student Affairs, Dr. Dgku Habibah Ag Kee, who highlighted pickerball as one of the most popular sports in Kota Kinabalu. Her inspiring words encouraged students to actively participate and make effective use of UITM’s sports facilities, promoting sustainable and healthy lifestyles. She recently learned that the sepak takraw court shares same measurements as pickerball court.
The event continued with an insightful briefing by the President of Pikerball KK, Mr. Daron Mohd Shafiz Somiun, who explained the game rules, basic exercises, and scoring methods.

The program also featured a friendly match between UITM and ALUMNi, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship. Mdm Nurhazwani Binti Mohamad Jasni, co-owner of Fut8 and also UITM ALUMNi, announced that Fut8 sponsored Pikerball equipment for students—emphasizing that it’s “payback time” and reinforcing alumni’s commitment to the wellness of the UITM community.
UITM Sport Unit Head, Mr Adzwa Kamri said that this sport has great potential to turn into a business opportunity for UITM, such as court rentals, creating a new revenue stream and promoting community engagement. Furthermore, sepak takraw court can be utilised together with Pickerball game.
Looking Ahead: Community Projects & Sports Development
Building on this momentum, ALUMNi are dedicated to continuing community projects in collaboration with UITM to promote these exciting sport. We warmly invite corporate sponsors and alumni to support these initiatives.
Furthermore, the sepak takraw court will be utilized for Pikerball. This innovative approach maximizes existing facilities, encouraging active participation from everyone—from the young to senior citizens.
Promoting these sports will not only enhance physical well-being but also foster social harmony within the community.
